The owner of this pool
had a scuba diving hobby, and so naturally requested
this mural of tropical fish and corals. It had to be
painted on existing timber paneled walls, previously
painted in a plain grey gloss, so the bright colours
of the reef inhabitants brought the whole room to life
and gentle uplighters at night add to the magic. Because
of the gloss paint background, I couldn’t work
with emulsions, so I used Sadolin Swedish exterior wood
paints, available in many colours and which, although
water based, are extremely tough. It was recommended
to the client that the whole thing be sealed with an
industrial sealant.
